Auf den Nadeln im Sommer

Mit meinem letzten gestrickten Tuch hab ich ja beim Any Shawl Knitalong in der Ravelrygruppe von Melanie Berg mitgemacht. Zum Schluss wurden ein paar Wollpakete verlost, und ich habe tatsächlich gewonnen!

With my last knitted shawl I joined the Any Shawl Knitalong by Melanie Berg. Prizes were drawn among the finished shawls and I won a kit to knit Melanie’s The Joker and the Thief.

Und zwar die Wolle um ihr Tuch The Joker and the Thief zu stricken – und das ganze in einer Überraschungsfarbkombination. Freitag Mittag, kurz vor dem Wegfahren, hat der Postler geklingelt und mir meinen Gewinn gebracht. Ich habe den Umschlag natürlich gleich aufreißen müssen und da sind mir ein paar rosa Wollstränge entgegengekullert. Habe ich nicht in meinem letzten Post geschrieben, dass mir rosa/pink plötzlich und unerwartet gefällt? Es passt also perfekt! Woher hat Dani von Sunshine Yarns das bloß gewusst?

The color was a surprise, so I was impatiently waiting for the postman to bring my wool. Luckily he came half an hour before I left for the weekend. Of course I had to open the envelope right away. I found some lovely pink skeins! I have just discovered recently that I actually suddenly like pink, so it’s a perfect fit. How could Dani of Sunshine Yarns possibly know that?

Am Samstag wurde dann gleich fleißig Wolle gewickelt und angeschlagen. Ich war schon sehr neugierig, wie diese wellenförmigen Streifen beim Stricken entstehen.

Saturday morning I wound the wool so I could cast on as soon as possible. I couldn’t wait to find out how the wavy stripes are knitted.

Ich musste die Anleitung sehr genau lesen, aber nach dem der Knoten im Hirn gelöst war, war es eigentlich ganz einfach.

I had to read the instructions carefully, but after I understood what I had to do it was quite easy.

Hier seht ihr nochmal den angemalten Hocker, jetzt schon mit dem bunten Knauf. Leider klemmt die Lade ziemlich und lässt sich nur mit Gewalt öffnen.

Here you can also see the stool I painted this time also with the painted knob. Unfortunately, quite some strength is needed to pull it open.
